Jos, Plateau State · Next edition 2027
Transforming Lives, One Mind at a Time.
The Jos Mental Health Conference brings clinicians, community workers, faith leaders, researchers and policymakers into one room, and keeps the work going between editions.
More than an event
The conference days are one part of it. Between editions, JMHC works on six things.
Training and case-based learning for psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, counsellors and teachers.
Plain-language education in English and Hausa that reduces stigma and helps families know when to seek care.
Practice grounded in the realities of conflict, displacement and loss across the Plateau and the wider North.
Connecting hospitals, NGOs, universities, faith communities and government so referrals and resources actually move.
Evidence and voices from the field brought to policymakers and development partners.
Follow-through on conference outcomes, tracked and reported from one edition to the next.
Who JMHC is for
In Jos, a pastor, a head teacher or a ward leader is often the first person a struggling family turns to. The conference makes room for them alongside clinicians and researchers.
